The President of WfWP, Mrs. Diana Iskreva-Idigo, took part in the 42nd UN Water meeting (30 Sep.-1 Oct. 2025, UN Palace, Geneva, Switzerland). UN-Water meetings gather UN-Water Members and Partners to coordinate the UN’s approach to water and sanitation issues.

Participants focused on the continued implementation of the UN System-wide Strategy for Water and Sanitation, preparations for the 2026 UN Water Conference, and the evolving UN programming landscape.

The President of WfWP made an intervention emphasizing that the women and their roles in water need to be clearly embedded in all six Interactive Dialogues. Mrs. Iskreva-Idigo declared that WfWP stands ready to support the development of the six concept papers for the Interactive Dialogues around the cross-cutting issues of gender and also of capacity, and WfWP can support all six future co-chairs by bringing women’s voices to the process. Last but not least, WfWP goes together with its partners from ST!C, ButterflyEffect, and WWYP, encouraging and making visible the achievements of young female water professionals at national, regional, and global levels.

The intervention of WfWP was immediately seconded by a number of participants.
