The President of WfWP – Mrs. Diana Iskreva-Idigo, met with the UN Special Water Envoy. Immediately after the 42nd UN Water meeting, Mrs. Retno Marsudi met privately with the representatives of the members of ST!C Coalition to have a dialogue with the women progress-makers in the global water agenda.

The President of WfWP declared that women and their roles in water need to be clearly embedded in all six interactive dialogues leading up to the 2026 UN Water Conference. Together with its partners from ST!C, WfWP stands ready to support the development of the six concept papers for the Interactive Dialogues around the cross-cutting issues of gender and also of capacity. WfWP joins efforts with the ButterflyEffect and WWYP to encourage and promote young women water professionals’ visibility and involvement towards the 11th World Water Forum, 2027.

As Mrs. Marsudi summarized it: “We agreed how women are central to water actions — because water challenges and actions affect women the most! In water-related issues, women must support one another. Only by that can we make progress in the water and women’s agenda.”
